What we collect, and what we do not

Last updated 9 September 2026. This describes what the service actually does. It is short because the service collects very little.

The short version. One optional email address. One cookie, and only if you sign in. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party cookies, no profiling, and nothing sold or shared. Everything is stored on a server in Nuremberg, Germany.

Who is responsible

AnswerRange is a product of Telic Technologies Pvt Ltd (telictech.com), which is the data controller for everything described here and decides how it is handled. You can reach us about any of it at privacy@answerrange.com.

Still to be published here: our registered postal address. Article 13 of the GDPR asks for it and we would rather show this line than print an address we had not checked. Ask at the email above and we will send it.

What we store

WhatWhyHow long
Your email address Only if you give it. Used to send your report when it finishes, to send sign-in links, and for nothing else. Kept until you ask us to delete it.
The domain you measure Along with the category and the markets you chose, and any competitor domains you named. Kept while the measurement exists.
Your measurement results The questions asked, which assistants answered, which domains were cited, and the pages behind those citations. Kept while the measurement exists.
A session cookie Set only after you sign in. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, expires after 30 days. It holds a random identifier and nothing else. Expires after 30 days, or immediately when you sign out.
Ordinary server logs Request paths and timestamps, kept to keep the service running and to spot abuse. Rotated and discarded.

What we deliberately do not do

Who else touches the data

These are the only processors involved. Each does one job.

ProcessorWhereWhat they do
Hetzner Online GmbH Germany Hosts the service and the database. All measurement data lives here.
Brevo France Sends the sign-in links and the report notification. Receives your email address and nothing else.
DataForSEO Estonia / United States Runs the Google AI Overviews and AI Mode queries on our behalf.
OpenAI, Google and Perplexity United States The assistants we measure. They receive the buying questions and the market, and no personal data.

Transfers outside the EU are limited to the measurement itself — the question we ask an assistant, and the market we ask it in. Your email address is never sent to any of them.

If you connect Google Search Console

Connecting Search Console is entirely optional and the service works fully without it. If you connect it, this is exactly what happens.

Limited Use. AnswerRange's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Search Console data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not allow humans to read it except where you have explicitly asked us to for support, and we do not use it to train any model.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or the UK you have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, take it elsewhere, and object to how we use it. In practice:

The legal basis is performance of the contract for the measurement you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping the service running securely, and your consent for the optional Search Console connection.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, the date at the top changes and anyone with an account is emailed. We do not make quiet changes.
